The Industrial visit for students of 3rd Semester of Electrical Engineering was organized as a part of Student – Industry Interaction program .This visit was of one day. Students visited the Saras Dairy Jaipur plant – a unit of Rajasthan Co-operative Dairy Federation Limited

At Saras Diary, our students visited the milk processing plant followed by a visit to the storage and outsourcing section in which the autonomous drive sections were implemented for packaging of milk. After that, students also visited the Saras Ghee Manufacturing plant & outsourcing sections too. Students were at first explained about the safety measures to be followed by the concerned on-duty staff members. They were taken to the control room for having a lucid idea about the measuring and control equipments and the user interface at the control room.

The milk collection and testing systems at village DCS have been automated with the installation of electronic milk testers (EMT) and auto milk collection stations (AMCS). At present 9,875 EMT & AMCS are operational at DCS level. Milk reception, weighment and testing at dairy plants and chilling centres have been modernized with the installation of Automated raw milk reception Dock (RMRD).

The marketing activities of the Federation include providing support to the Milk Unions in milk and milk products marketing, within and outside the State. RCDF is presently marketing milk & milk products under Saras brand. Fresh milk of different compositions and long shelf life tetra pak milk is being marketed in rural and urban areas. The Federation is a major supplier of tetra pak milk (UHT) to the armed forces.

RCDF is also marketing various fresh milk products in Saras brand, which are, Chhach, Lassi, Shrikhand, Flavoured Milk, Paneer and Dahi. Long life products such as Cow ghee, Ghee, Table Butter, Skim Milk Powder and Tetra Pak Milk (Taza Milk and Fit and Fine) are also being marketed.

Saras Milk Parlours serving a complete range of milk products are operational at 307 points and there are 18,086 booths and shop agencies in Rajasthan.


Students were exposed to the industrial automation process in the industry during their visit. All the students were of the opinion that this visit was beneficial for the them and would like to be a part of such industrial visits in near future.
